Work towards creating your very own feather cloak while learning the skills and techniques of contemporary kākahu making. Gain hands-on experience in tāniko weaving, māwhitiwhiti patterns, feather inserts, and tags, while also learning the tikanga and Te Reo connected to Raranga Whatu.
By the end of the course, you’ll complete a sampler cloak large enough for a small child and have the confidence to start your own projects. A $30 starter kit is required and payable to the tutor on the first evening. Please also bring a pen, pencil, and scissors.

Please note: All courses need a minimum number to go ahead. If your course does not have enough enrolments, we regret that we will have to cancel and will let you know by email - please check your emails, including your spam folder, regularly. Courses are usually cancelled, when necessary, 1-2 working days prior to the scheduled start date. Please ensure you are aware of our terms and conditions before completing your enrolment. Note there is NO refund if you cancel less than 5 working days in advance of a class starting.
